"Datapaq" Data Logger a compact Temperature Monitoring for Oven

It's been almost two years now that I am using a "Datapaq" data logger 9000 series with a medium manufacturing company here in Philippines, and did you know that this device is reliable and accurate oven temperature profiling.

This compact device is designed specifically to monitor temperature of wicket ovens, with the use of fast response PTFE coated thermocouples attached to the test sheet with high temperature adhesive tape we are able to measure 0ºC to 265ºC.

The unit comprises with Thermal barrier that can withstand the harshest industrial environment. Designed to clip onto the sheet traveling through the oven without disturbing the production run. Collect the profile temperature data with the Oven Tracker for Windows and convert it into useful information. That information can be used not only guarantee quality, but allow optimization of the cure process to maximize productivity and profitability.

We are able also to identify problems within the oven such as cold spots quickly and efficiently, potential problems such as blocked ducting, leaky burner box and faulty motor fan allowing rapid corrective action. Below is a sample of actual profile.

Charge

Recall that electrons are negatively charged particles while protons are positively charged particles. An electrical charge is created when an object has either an excess (negative charge) or a deficiency (positive charge) of electrons. You may recall an important and fundamental electrical law from your physics studies that:

Like charges repel each other.

Unlike charges attract each other.

Remember charging a balloon by rubbing it on your hair? The balloon becomes negatively charged, while the hair is positively charged. Holding the balloon near a neutral object will make the charges in that object move. As you rub the balloon on your hair, the balloon acquires a negative charge because some electrons (negatively-charged) in your hair are transferred to the balloon. Your hair would have insufficient number of electrons, thereby not maintaining its electrical neutrality. You can think of removing electrons from your hair as removing negative charges that, in turn, results to a net positive charge in your hair. The fundamental unit of charge, which is the coulomb, is named after the French scientist Charles Coulomb. It is an International System of Units (SI) basic unit used in measuring charge.

1C = 6.25 x 1018electrons
